Flight Disruptions Due to Runway Incident at SXM

Update – SXM Runway Reopening & Winair Operations

Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) has informed Winair that the runway is expected to reopen on Monday, 8 September 2025 at 12:00 noon.

Winair will begin check-in at 10:30 AM to prepare for the resumption of flights.

Winair has been informed by Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA) that the runway is expected to reopen on Monday, 8 September 2025, from 12:00 noon.

Our operations are scheduled to resume accordingly. Passengers on affected flights will be notified directly via email. Winair’s customer service counter at PJIA will open from 9:00 AM to assist travelers.

Due to an incident involving another carrier at Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) earlier today, the airport is currently closed until further notice.

As a result, our operations to and from SXM are temporarily disrupted. We don’t expect to be able to operate flights today, Sunday, 7 September. Normal operations are expected to resume on Monday, 8 September 2025. We are working closely with PJIAE and all stakeholders to resume services as soon as the runway is cleared, and normal operations can safely recommence.
