Winair has officially unveiled the first aircraft in its fleet featuring special decals commemorating the airline's 65th anniversary, marking the beginning of a year-long celebration of six and a half decades of connecting the Caribbean.
The ATR aircraft returned to St. Maarten proudly displaying the commemorative anniversary design, symbolizing Winair's rich heritage and its continued commitment to providing safe, reliable, and dependable regional air service.
Over the coming months, the anniversary decals will gradually be introduced across additional aircraft in the Winair fleet, allowing passengers throughout the region to celebrate this important milestone wherever they travel.
Since its founding in 1961, Winair has played a vital role in connecting Caribbean communities, supporting tourism, business, healthcare, education, and family connections. As the national airline of St. Maarten, Winair has also made a significant contribution to the island's economy by creating employment opportunities, strengthening regional connectivity, and supporting the sustainable growth of the destinations it serves.
"Seeing our first aircraft proudly carrying our 65th Anniversary branding is a very special moment for everyone at Winair," said Hans van de Velde, Chief Executive Officer of Winair. "This milestone represents far more than the passage of time. It reflects the dedication of generations of employees, the loyalty of our passengers, and the trust of our partners. We are equally proud of the role Winair has played in supporting the economic development of St. Maarten and our neighbouring islands. As we celebrate 65 years of connecting the Caribbean, we remain committed to investing in our future while continuing to deliver the reliable service our customers have come to expect."
The unveiling of the anniversary aircraft is the first of several initiatives planned throughout Winair's 65th anniversary year. Passengers and partners can look forward to special campaigns, community events, and activities celebrating the airline's history and its continued role in bringing the Caribbean closer together.
As Winair looks to the future, the airline remains focused on expanding connectivity, enhancing the customer experience, and continuing to serve the Caribbean with the same dedication that has defined the company for the past 65 years.
The first anniversary aircraft is now operating throughout Winair's network, proudly carrying the 65th anniversary decals as a flying symbol of the airline's past, present, and future.
